Strolling through Porto Maravilha

In this post we suggest for you an itinerary that will fill your eyes and your soul with satisfaction. You can start at CCBB-Rio, which always has free programming, you just need to book in advance via the museum's website. Enter the museum and admire the historic building at 66 Rua Primeiro de Março and let your eyes roam its neoclassical lines. In the past, the place was linked to finance

ces and business. Its foundation stone was laid in 1880, materializing a project by Francisco Joaquim Bethencourt da Silva (1831-1912), architect of the Casa Imperial, founder of the Sociedade Propagadora das Belas-Artes and the Liceu de Artes e Ofícios.

Opened as the headquarters of the Commercial Association in 1906, its rotunda housed the trading floor of the Public Funds Exchange. In the 1920s, it became part of Banco do Brasil, which renovated it to open its headquarters. This function made the building emblematic of the national financial world and would last until 1960, when it gave way to Agência Centro do Rio de Janeiro and then to Agência Primeiro de Março, still in operation.

At the end of the 80s, rescuing the symbolic and architectural value of the building, Banco do Brasil decided to preserve it by transforming it into a cultural center. The adaptation project preserved the refinement of the columns, the ornaments, the marble that rises from the foyer through the stairs and reworked the dome over the rotunda.
Then walk to Praça Mauá along Orla Conde… admire all the scenery that this tour provides, be surprised by a view more beautiful than the other throughout the entire journey. Maybe you feel like you're in another country... down to earth... it's Rio de Janeiro, our Wonderful City.
Then arriving at Praça Mauá, it is an explosion of natural beauty, culture and art! When you arrive, you will already come across the Museum of Tomorrow, let your eyes glide… historic cranes on the Pier, Touring Building, Open-air Museum on Olympic Boulevard, Museum of Art of Rio – MAR, the famous building At night, the RB1 , the Brazilian Navy, passes a VLT full of charm…. WOW!

We would like to remind you that entry to MAR is free until Sunday, September 3rd. Enjoy!

Continuing along Olympic Boulevard, you can admire the Porto Urban Art Museum – MAUP, with murals by renowned national and international artists. And in the end it ends up in 2 super cool attractions: the Yup Star ferris wheel and AquaRio. It's a really cool program... and it will definitely satisfy your hunger...
