The 10th anniversary celebrations at the Rio Art Museum continue and this weekend the kids are the ones who get the gift. On Saturday, 25th and Sunday, 26th, children will be able to watch stories, shows and participate in ecological workshops and interactive activities. A program!
On Saturday, at 2pm, the Rio group Tapetes Contadores de Histórias brings in its presentation enchanting stories, which come to life through three-dimensional rugs, embroidered parchments and handmade panels, created in France, Brazil and Peru, as well as suitcases , aprons, clothes, boxes and cloth books that serve as scenery. The stories will be narrated by Warley Goulart, Rosana Reátegui and Cadu Cinelli – founders of the project in Brazil.
“With our sewn rugs, we invite children to travel the world through stories, discovering new cultures and knowledge, with a lot of courage and hope. The sparkle in children’s eyes: this is the essence of our work” explains Warley Goulart, founder of “Tapetes Contadores” – a group that has represented Brazil in more than 16 countries and in four different languages.
On Sunday, March 26th, children will be able to enjoy the children's musical show “Tchibum! The Aquatic League” which will hold three exhibitions on pilotis throughout the day. In addition, interactive activities and workshops on the environment and recycling also take place.
Designed to be shown on screens, the show “Tchibum! The Aquatic League” tells the story of Junior and Yasmin, two children who love to play near the water. One day, Yasmin and Junior are called on an adventure to clean up and preserve nature. As the mission is much more arduous than they imagined, they have the help of several inhabitants of the Bay: Botão, a very intelligent gray dolphin; Lilon, a clumsy and forgetful otter; and Bibi, a biguatinga water bird. This way, children understand the diversity of marine life in the bay and the importance of preserving its waters. The show features new songs on the theme.
“The entire event was designed to raise awareness about Rio’s waters in childhood, in addition to bringing the public closer to a different and unforgettable theatrical experience”, explain director Diego Morais and author and actor Pedro Henrique Lopes, creators of the project.
