Review Black Bom with Neighbors of Tomorrow at the Museum of Tomorrow

On July 1st, starting at 4pm, Resenha Black Bom com Neighbors of Tomorrow will rock the Museum of Tomorrow, promoting lots of dancing to the rhythm of Black Music. The event, held by the cultural equipment in partnership with Baile Black Bom – a cultural movement born in Quilombo Pedra do Sal in 2013 – is free and aimed at neighbors in Pequena África (regions of Saúde, Gamboa, Santo Cristo, Morros da Conceição, Livramento , Pinto and Providência), but also open to the general public.

In addition to dancing to the immersive music, the public will also be able to participate in a practical passinho de charme workshop for beginners and enjoy the live set by DJ Flash, resident of Baile Black Bom. Free tickets can be collected via the Sympla website.

The event will also feature a gastronomic fair signed by Sabores do Porto, bringing together local entrepreneurs from segments such as gastronomy, fashion and crafts. This special program is part of the Neighbors of Tomorrow Relationship Program, which seeks to value life and the region of Little Africa.

XVIII RioHarpFestival

Meanwhile, throughout the month of July, Rio de Janeiro becomes the world capital of harps with the XVIII RioHarpFestival. Between the 1st and 31st of July, the festival features 30 harpists from 22 countries, offering a total of 73 concerts with free entry. The recitals will take place in various locations, such as the Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil Rio de Janeiro (CCBB RIO), Arte Sesc Rio, CCJF, SESC Quitandinha, Real Conselho Português de Leitura, Biblioteca Nacional, Jockey Club, Palácio São Clemente – Consulate of Portugal , Casa Museu Eva Klabin, as well as tourist and historical attractions in Rio de Janeiro, such as Corcovado and Copacabana Fort.

The program includes a wide cultural diversity, with harpists from different backgrounds and musical styles. From traditional European and African harp to Japanese koto, the festival provides a unique experience for music lovers. One of the highlights of the edition is the presentation by renowned German harpist Markus Thalheimer, who will share the CCBB RJ stage with the Uerê project camerata, made up of children and teenagers from communities in Rio de Janeiro who play string and percussion instruments.
