Get ready to enjoy a super special edition of the Gastro Beer Rio event, which will take place this Saturday (3) and Sunday (4), from 3pm to midnight, close to the Pier, on Boulevard Olímpico, in front of Yup Star – The Ferris Wheel in Rio.
With lots of samba, several beer options, games, beer tours and top quality cuisine! Check out all the details below and come and enjoy!
Samba circle and different opening hours
In addition to the samba circles to get into the carnival atmosphere, Gastro Beer Rio is holding its summer edition with a games area with foosball, beer pong and air hockey. Another new feature will be the opening hours, from 3pm until midnight, so that the public can have fun in milder temperatures, in the post blocks and on the beach. To make the fun complete, on event days the Ferris wheel will operate during special hours until 9pm.
With free entry and pet friendly, the event has around 20 breweries and varied gastronomic options, as well as workshops and a playground for children. To complete the experience, those new to the world of craft beers will be able to participate in the Brewery Tour.
Attractions
Rio's samba circles will entertain the event's audience. The shows take place in two different spaces and at alternating times. During breaks, DJ Guzta will perform and keep the atmosphere super lively.
On Saturday, Espaço Boulevard will host at 5pm the group Velhos Malandros and at 9pm singer Anderson Camarada. In Yup Star Space at 4pm it will be the turn of Roda Sambar&Love and at 8pm Samba da Harmonia.
On Sunday, at Espaço Boulevard, the group Ekilíbrio will perform at 5pm and Marcelle Britto at 9pm. At Espaço Yup Star, the Beta Pagoda performs at 4:30 p.m. and Maytê Corrêa at 8pm.
Space challenges GBR
In the games area, the attractions will be led by Erich Monteiro, from Quiz do Monteiro, and will include the distribution of gifts from various partner brands and official GBR products such as caps, buckets, cups, cups, buckets, beers and vouchers Draft beer. Registration is free, made on the spot and on a first-come, first-served basis in the GBR Challenges space and while supplies last.
Free Brewery Tour
If you are new to the world of craft beers or are curious about it, take part in the Brewery Tour. In this edition, Marcelo Neves, professor of gastronomy and drinks at SENAC/RJ, will take participants to visit stands and learn about labels, styles, as well as exchange experiences with master brewers. Each participant will receive an exclusive caldereta produced by Silkaria for the tasting. Registration for the 15 daily places is free and done from 3pm, in order of arrival, in the GBR Challenges space. The activity will start at 4pm.
Craft and specialty beers
Those who enjoy craft and special beers will find award-winning labels, trends and launches at Gastro Beer Rio, such as Flavors, a vanilla porter from PaKas.
Mafia will bring its complete line, and among the options it will have New York, the only Hop Lager champion of the Mondial de la Bière.
And there will also be Ouse Beer, a brewery created by four friends, among its labels, one of which pays homage to names like Rita Lee.
Another brand with all its creations is Therezópolis. Those who like sour will have options like Tangerine from Indigo. The event also features dozens of other labels from traditional breweries such as Noi, Three Monkeys, Hocus Pocus, Masterpiece, Mistura Clássica, Antuérpia, Farra Bier, Gallo and Confraria Paulistânia.
Launched in the last edition, GBR Happy Lager, Gastro Beer Rio's first beer, will be sold in the event shop for the public to take home. Created and produced by PaKas and Indigo, it is a refreshing, delicate and aromatic Hop Lager with a slightly spicy flavor, coming from Bobek hops.
Diverse gastronomic options
To pair with the beers, there are different gastronomic options such as pork belly with guava sauce and heart popcorn with herb mayonnaise from the collaborative project Boteco É Nóis, a snack bar run by chef João Diamante.
Another treat that you can't miss is the artisanal meat croquette with homemade BBQ sauce, a launch from Belga. For those who can't give up a burger, there are the Vulcano, Carvalhos Burger and Breder's Burger options. But if your thing is an even more differentiated cuisine, there are German dishes at Kabana do Alemão, Dogaria NY with New York-style hot dogs, acarajés from Chef Lenaide and Japanese dishes from Japalito.
Kiki's Garlic Bread, Friitas, Cosmetics do Nordeste, Rei da Batata Espiral and Franguito`s complete the snack options. Vegans and vegetarians have the option of Affrika Gourmet with dishes such as baião de Dois and salpicão made from jackfruit with almond cream. Desserts are also varied. The cakes in the jar are guaranteed by Amor de Brigadeiro, as well as sugar-free sweets from Teu Doce, brownies from My Brownies, roll cakes from Danibu Doceria Gourmet and churros from Rebola Queixo. And an option to refresh is Lehmonada's natural 100% lemonades.
Small shop with products and souvenirs
The Gastro Beer Rio shop has a series of souvenirs to make the beer experience even more complete. There are exclusive cauldrons from the summer and Porto editions, glasses, zero-degree mugs, buckets, risers and eco cups. The public will also find Gastro Beer Rio collab products with other brands. This is the case with Atryum glasses and GBR Happy Lager beer, the first beer at the event produced by PaKas and Indigo.
Children's activities
Fun for children is also guaranteed. Faz Bola will have workshops and performance with soap bubbles costing R$ 15.00 (30 min) and the interaction is free to the public. Alegria Alegria will have children's workshops (summer slime, keychain with pompom and pendant, crown, banner and painting on the easel from R$20). The little ones will also have the option of the Playground, a space with various toys.
Little Africa Tour
Guide Cosme Felippsen, born and raised in Providência, the first favela in Brazil, will take the Tour of Little Africa, this Saturday (3), at 2pm, leaving Largo São Francisco da Prainha and arriving at Gastro Beer Rio 3:30 p.m.. The tour passes through tourist sites such as Pedra do Sal, Tramas do Porto, Cais do Valongo and Mural do Kobra. The tour costs R$ 25 (children up to ten years old are free), has limited places and reservations are made via WhatsApp (21) 98123-4167.
