The 20th edition of Rio Oil & Gas 2022 begins today (26th), one of the biggest oil and gas events in the world. The expectation of the Brazilian Institute of Oil and Gas (IBP), organizer of the event, is to receive around 40 thousand participants, who will circulate until Thursday (29) through 51 thousand m² of six warehouses, where the fair and the Congress with the main executives and experts in the sector from Brazil and the world. More than 400 exhibitors, national and international, are present.
With more than 200 speakers, the in-person version also has exclusive spaces for networking and coworking meetings and there is also a live broadcast of the Congress and the sponsors' studios.
This edition of Rio Oil & Gas also marks the resumption of Rio de Janeiro as the country's business tourism capital. Holding the fair in a more central location, with easy access, in a revitalized region of the city boosts the local economy and the hotel segment.
IBP invested to renovate the “Armazém Kobra”, known as the “Mural Etnias”, by artist Eduardo Kobra, and which during the event is being renamed “Armazém IBP”. Congress lectures and part of the fair are being held there. With this renovation, the municipality gains a new space to hold large events, which guarantees another source of employment and income generation for the local economy. In recent years, the warehouse was only used as a parking lot.
Leaders, high-level executives and professionals from the oil, gas and energy industry have a meeting scheduled to celebrate advances, discuss challenges and business opportunities in celebrating 40 years of Rio Oil & Gas.
