Theatro Municipal reopens with free shows for the public

Those who enjoy theater can now celebrate the return of Theatro Municipal, right here near us, which, after being closed for a year and seven months due to the pandemic, is reopening with free sessions for the public. The presentations will take place this Saturday (30) and Sunday (31) at 4pm.

At the “Municipal Theater with open doors” two ballets will be shown: “Paquita” and Noite de Walpurgis.

Acts of the show Paquita

Dancers from the Maria Olenewa School Ballet Company will perform the ballet “Paquita”, with choreography by Marius Petipa and music by Ludwig Minkus. The opening will be the responsibility of the school’s students. Set during Napoleon's occupation of Spain, “Paquita” tells the story of a gypsy who saves the life of a French officer who falls in love with her.

 

Walpurgis Nights

“Walpurgis Night”, a scene from the opera “Faust, by Charlels Gounod, with original choreography by Leonid Lavrovsky adapted by Jorge Teixeira presented by the Ballet of the Theatro Municipal.

In total, 550 tickets will be available per performance. They can be collected at the box office on performance days from 10am. Each CPF can collect a maximum of four tickets. The classification of shows is free.

Maintaining safety protocols for patrons to prevent the spread of Covid, the venue will require proof of vaccination, temperature measurement, mandatory use of a mask and seats are still separated.
