On Thursday afternoon (06), Pier Mau\u00e1, located in the heart of Rio de Janeiro, was awarded the trophy for being one of the Best Ports of Embarkation for the Brazilian Season by the Krooze Awards 2024, known as the \u201cOscars of Cruises\u201d. The award was presented by Paulo Papoy, CEO of Krooze and Luiz Fernando Vieira, managing partner of Krooze to Marcello Chagas, operations manager of Pier Mau\u00e1, representing director Denise Lima. The award is in recognition of the excellent service provided by the port of Rio de Janeiro to cruise passengers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to Pier Mau\u00e1, two other Brazilian ports were also awarded: the Port of Itaja\u00ed, in Santa Catarina, and the Port of Santos, located in the state of S\u00e3o Paulo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The awards promoted by Krooze, the country's largest cruise sales platform, were voted for by tourism market professionals, travelers, influencers and journalists. The participants chose the winners in each category, taking into account their performance over the last 12 months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pier Mau\u00e1 has a long history of awards. For seven consecutive years, it was awarded by Travel Weekly as \u201cBest Cruise Port in South America\u201d (2009-2016). In addition, in 2022 and 2024, it was voted \u201cBest Cruise Terminal in Latin America\u201d by the World Cruise Awards. It was also voted Best Port of Embarkation for the Brazilian Season by the Krooze Awards 2024.
