More than 327,000 visitors passed through the terminal. Since last October, Pier Mau\u00e1 has welcomed 25 international and 11 national ships, five of which made their first stay in the city. There have been many challenges, but we are satisfied and optimistic. Growing interest in new tourist routes led ships to extend their stays, allowing passengers to better explore the attractions of the Marvelous City.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe've seen an increase in interest in alternative tourist routes, which has attracted several boats for longer stays,\u201d says Marcello.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, the terminal had busy days, with multiple ships at berth simultaneously: four days with five ships; one day with four ships; seven days with three ships and 18 days with two ships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cPier Mau\u00e1 plays an essential role in tourism in Rio de Janeiro, contributing directly to the economy of the whole state. This season was further proof that Rio continues to be one of the most desirable destinations for tourists from Brazil and around the world. As well as welcoming cruise ships, we have also hosted some of Brazil's biggest events. Big names such as: Fashion Rio, Ler, Rio +20, ArtRIO, Veste Rio, Casa Brasil at the Rio 2016 Olympics, Mondial de La Bi\u00e8re, Montreux Jazz Festival, Rio Innovation Week, Shell Eco-Marathon and many others are part of the portfolio of events that have already occupied our warehouses and delighted the public.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since 2007, we have rented out our spaces for events of all sizes and segments, making us one of the city's main and most desirable cultural and business venues. In our leased areas in the port of Rio de Janeiro - which include the Touring Club building and Warehouses 01, 02, 03, 04, 05 and the external area, used for non-operational port activities - events such as the Rio Art Tattoo Festival and the Rio Constru\u00e7\u00e3o Summit have already been confirmed for 2025.
