Cultural and social programming at Pier Mauá moves the port region

With several options to entertain locals and tourists, a series of events are taking over Armazém 1B, at Pier Mauá this week. In conjunction with the city hall, several healthy aging centers in the region are being invited to host the Best Age Ball, on February 13th, starting at 2pm. The event has free entry.

 

In the rhythm of carnival, a super rehearsal rocks the public on February 14th where Mangueira invites Beija-Flor and they perform together with their dancers, a couple of master room and flag bearer, interpreters and drums. All the joy and beauty that schools bring to Marquês de Sapucaí in their parades in the middle of Pier Mauá. The opening is by the group Samba faz bem and DJ Diego Nascimento. The event takes place at 6pm, with tickets starting at R$ 50.00.

 

With Carnival just around the corner, Pier Mauá guarantees the pre-party with Carna on Pier, a block event that takes place on the 15th with tickets starting at R$ 20.00. The opening will be at 5pm with Dj Guigga (Dj Minha Luz é de Led) and the groups leading the festivities are: Mulheres de Chico, Vem Cá Minha Flor, O Baile Todo – O Bloco and TechnoBrass. Not to mention the participation of DJs Guiga + DJ Docinho (Minha Luz é de Led), Yasmim Vilhena, DJ Julio Rodrigues, DJ Ingrid Nepomuceno and DJ Lobão.

 

This Sunday, February 16th, at 4pm, Bar Mané will once again open the doors of Armazém 1B to bring Cariocas and visitors to the city lots of good music and breathtaking dishes that only the Mané bar in Rio knows how to make. . The music is provided by Samba Independente dos Bons Costumes and DJ Julio Rodrigues. Tickets from R$ 20.00.

 

Martial arts invade Pier Mauá on February 19th. The Instituto Irmãos Nogueira and the Prefeitura Escola de Lutas project promote a large MMA class for the children and teenagers already served by the project. Visitation is open to the public and takes place from 2pm to 5pm.

 

February 20th is the day of the Orquestras project, which brings together performances by Camerata Uerê, made up of students from Projeto Uerê who play violin, viola, cello, bass and percussion, and Orquestra Vozes Meninos do Rio, a project run by the municipal secretariat of education. The event also takes place from 2pm to 5pm and is open to the public.

 

About the events

Pier Mauá, in partnership with the production company One Job, launched a series of cultural and social activities, Pier On, where Armazém 1B was transformed into a super versatile space for carnival balls, orchestras, food trucks and much more. The program runs until March with some free attractions, and others paid for, ranging from R$ 20 to R$ 40.
