Equipped with the most rigorous security equipment, the Cruise Terminal has ISO 9001 and ISPS Code certifications – International Code for the Protection of Ships and Installations, which was established and signed by 166 member nations of the International Maritime Organization (IMO). Pier Mauá is a founding member of the Emergency Assistance Center (CAE) of the Port of Rio de Janeiro and regularly promotes training with its team to guarantee safe and quality service to all shipowners and operators, service providers, suppliers and tourists.
Pier Mauá also participates in and supports the creation of the Environmental Accident Control Center, of Cia. Docas do Rio de Janeiro, which will have the necessary equipment to contain accidental oil spills caused by tenants or port operators who do not have operational conditions. to face these problems. Among the instruments to be used are boats, containment and absorption barriers, oil collectors and communication equipment.
