Located in the heart of Porto Maravilha, Pier Mauá covers an area of 70,000 m². The concessionaire is responsible for managing the Rio de Janeiro International Cruise Terminal, the Touring Building, Espaço Mauá, as well as five warehouses built in the 19th century, each measuring 3,500 m², and an outdoor area of 8,500 m².
According to the management of the Rio International Cruise Terminal, Pier Mauá is a seven-time winner of the World Travel Award, in the “Best Cruise Port in South America” category, awarded by the prestigious publication Travel Week (2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016). In 2022, 2024, and 2025, it was named Best Cruise Terminal in Latin America by the World Cruise Awards (a sister event to the World Travel Awards). It was also named Best Port of Embarkation of the Brazilian Season by the Krooze Awards in 2024 and 2025, and Best Port of Call of the Season at the 2025 Krooze Awards.
The venue has hosted major events such as Rio+20, ArtRIO, Veste Rio, Rio Gastronomia, Casa Brasil at the 2016 Olympics, Mondial de La Bière, Rio Innovation Week, and ROG.and, among others, the venue has established itself as one of the most prestigious venues for hosting major events in the Marvelous City over the past 20 years.
With the entire revitalization process, the port region of Rio has regained its shine and importance, becoming fertile ground for the emergence of new ventures. The first company to see this potential was Google, which chose Pier Mauá to host the largest You Tube Space in Brazil, located in Armazém 1.
