The tip for the weekend is the musical “Carmen, a Grande Pequena Notável” which was a huge success in SP and premieres on February 4th at the Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil Rio de Janeiro (CCBB RJ). Until March 28, the public will be able to learn about the trajectory of Carmem Miranda, played by actress Amanda Acosta. Directed by Kleber Montanheiro, the musical is inspired by the book of the same name by Heloisa Seixas and Julia Romeu, which won the FNLIJ Award for Best Non-Fiction Book in 2015.
Portuguese living in Brazil, Carmem has become one of the greatest symbols of Brazilian culture throughout the world. The musical tells the story of the singer, from her arrival in Brazil as a child, through radio, her first recordings on disc, Brazilian cinema and the Cassino da Urca, to stardom in Hollywood films. Inspired by the children's book of the same name by Heloisa Seixas and Julia Romeu, the show tells and sings for the whole family the 46 years of life of this remarkable little girl who took Brazilian music and culture to the four corners of the world.

With the new health security measures, the Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil Rio de Janeiro is open from Wednesday to Monday, from 9am to 6pm. Entry is only available via online booking (eventim.com.br), control of the number of people in the building, single flow of circulation, temperature measurement, mandatory use of masks, provision of alcohol gel and markers on the floor for distancing . In the theater, capacity was reduced to 50%, with complete cleaning before each performance/session, in addition to a distance of two meters between seats.
