Enjoying the Alok show in Copacabana: safety tips for an incredible experience

There is no talk of anything other than the Alok show, one of the highlights of the celebrations for the 100th anniversary of the iconic Copacabana Palace hotel, this Saturday (26), on Copacabana beach. The DJ's performance is scheduled for 8pm, but access to the show venue - which is free - starts to be controlled from noon on Saturday and is valid until 1am on Sunday.

To make the most of this epic event, it's essential to keep safety in mind.

Blockades are planned with inspection points with metal detectors on the streets of the special traffic scheme, surveillance towers spread across the strip of sand and an estimated audience of more than a million people on the beach, almost a New Year's Eve event!

Thinking about our fans, here are some valuable tips to ensure safety and comfort at the famous DJ's show:

  1. Arrive early and get to know the area:

Arriving early allows you to familiarize yourself with the event area before the crowd grows. Identify emergency exits, aid stations, and meeting points in case you get separated from your friends. This also helps to avoid rushing and possible jostling at show time.

  1. Keep your belongings safe:

Amidst the excitement, it's easy to neglect your bags, backpacks and personal belongings. Use cross-body bags and keep your belongings in front of your body to prevent theft. Avoid carrying valuable items and only take the essentials.

  1. Hydration and sun protection:

Although the show starts at night, access will be open during the day, so it's important to stay hydrated. Carry a reusable water bottle and use sunscreen to avoid heat-related health problems, even if it's cloudy.

  1. Be aware of your surroundings:

Remain aware of those around you. If you notice anything suspicious, report it to security immediately.

  1. Use safe transport services:

Opt for reliable transportation services to get to and from the event venue. Avoid using unlicensed taxis or accepting rides from strangers.

Metrô has prepared a special scheme to serve customers who will participate in the “Show of the Century” event. Lines 1, 2 and 4 will operate on Saturday (26/08), from 5am to midnight, with extended boarding times at Cardeal Arcoverde/Copacabana, Siqueira Campos/Copacabana and Cantagalo/Copacabana stations until 1am, and the other stations only for disembarking after regular hours. On Sunday (08/27), from 7am to 11pm.

There will be a transfer between lines 1 and 2 on Saturday (08/26), on the shared section between General Osório/Ipanema and Central do Brasil/Centro stations and Sunday (08/27), on the shared section between Botafogo and Central do stations. Brazil/Center.

The Surface Metro (MNS) – Antero de Quental/Gávea and Botafogo/Gávea, will operate on Saturday (26/08), from 5am to 11:30pm and Sunday (27/08), from 7am to 10:30pm.

  1. Have a designated meeting point:

With the possibility of getting lost in the crowd, set a meeting point in advance with your friends. This will make it easier if someone gets lost during the event.

  1. Respect the rules and other fans:

Follow the security team's instructions and respect other fans. Avoid pushing, fighting and irresponsible behavior, so that everyone can enjoy the show in peace.

  1. Be careful with the use of electronic devices:

While it's tempting to capture incredible moments with your smartphone, remember that it can distract you from your surroundings. Use the device conscientiously so as not to compromise your safety.

  1. Discover the medical services available:

Find out where medical aid stations and first aid services are located. We hope this isn't necessary, but it's always good to be prepared.

  1. Dress appropriately:

Wear comfortable clothes that can withstand the rain. A waterproof jacket, raincoat or sturdy umbrella are great options for staying dry and protected.

With these tips in mind, you will be ready to enjoy the Alok show in Copacabana safely and peacefully. Remember, safety is a shared responsibility, so do your part to ensure an amazing experience for everyone in attendance. Have fun and dance to Alok's infectious beats!
