The Tourist Policing Battalion (BPTur) of the Military Police with the support of the State Tourist Security Council (CONSETUR) inaugurated this Friday morning, December 2nd, a mobile post on Boulevard Olímpico, at Pier Mauá, between warehouses 3 and 4.
The objective is to bring more security to tourists and locals who embark, disembark and transit around Porto Maravilha.
“Aware that this season is the biggest in the last ten years, with a large flow of tourists in the city and ships staying overnight at the terminal, we need to pay more attention to the safety of the location. The Military Police, through BPTur, decided to provide 24-hour support, reinforcing policing in the area with a trailer integrated into the 5th Battalion. The position will remain until the end of the season, which ends in mid-April. It will be a great honor to provide this support and act as ambassadors for Rio tourism”, comments Lieutenant Colonel Robson Cardeal – Commander of BPTur.
