Weekend with carnival hangover in the center of Rio de Janeiro

If you think you didn't enjoy Carnival that much, this weekend still promises a lot of good things, as there will be a Carnival hangover in the center of RJ.

And of course, we've put together the best tips to keep the festivities going!

The main attractions will be the Anitta and Monobloco megablocks in the center, Auê Festival 2024 at NAU Cidades with Baiana System, Duda Beat among others, and also O Baile and O Baile Sinfônico at Fundição Progresso, full of diversity and memorable presentations. 

And if your vibe is to enjoy yourself and at the same time increase your cultural enrichment, don't miss the carnival activities that will take place at the Rio Art Museum.

Street blocks: Anitta and Monobloco

It's not time to take off your costume yet! Get ready, because the center of Rio will be buzzing with these two mega blocks that parade this Saturday (17th) and Sunday (18th). 

On Saturday there will be Anitta's block, with many of the singer's hits and special guests. On Sunday, also in the center, the tradition is Monobloco, which is renowned for incorporating different rhythms and musical styles to the samba beat, closing RJ's carnival with a flourish. The expectation is to bring together more than 300 thousand revelers 🎊 🎉

Auê 2024 carnival festival at NAU Cidades

And for those who enjoy a show with a lot of diversity, Brazilianness and good music, you can't miss the Auê Festival events, which will take place at NAU this Friday (16) and Saturday (18) and which promise to be very popular! 

This Friday, there will be a show by Baiana System, Lamparina, Bloco do Jhonny, Sinfônica ambulante, Bloco 442, Bloco do Zeca and Forró da Taylor. 

On Saturday there will be Duda Beat, Melody, MãeAna (singing João Gomes), Ibrejinha, Meu Doce Acabou Hoje, Pagode do Will and Molekes do Piseiro.

The Ball and the Symphonic Ball at Fundição Progresso

And the shows don't stop there, still with this diverse and Brazilian feel, this Friday (16) and Saturday (17) there will be a lot of good music at Fundição. 

Today funk will dominate, with the sounds of Buchecha, Deize Tigrona, DJ Tubarão and much more! 

On Saturday, it will be chilling with the historic meeting between Orquestra Petrobras Sinfônica and Monobloco! The fusion of styles is also complemented by the performances by DJ Nicole Nandes and Bloco 442, which ends the night with a show full of Brazilianism. 

The proposal for the Symphonic Ball is based on a convergence of different musical genres, bringing samba, marchinhas, forró and classical music to the same space.

Carnival activities at the Rio Art Museum 

And if you want to enjoy a lot of learning and culture, check out the program for this weekend at MAR. 

This Saturday (17th) and Sunday (18th) the Relative Samba plot will take place, which is an artistic-pedagogical device in the shape of a large domino with works present in the MAR exhibitions. 

In this edition, the public is invited to think about the relationship between the museum and carnival and whether it would be possible to create a parade based on the works present in the pieces. 

And even on those days, the Meet the SEA Block will also take place. This is an interactive block for all ages.
