Giant hands in Rio

Colorful and promising to arouse the curiosity of everyone who passes by, starting this Friday (19/02), ten points in Rio de Janeiro will receive sculptures from the Rio de Mãos Dadas campaign. It is a set of initiatives by the Fecomércio RJ System (Sesc RJ and Senac RJ) that aims to involve people in a climate of positivity in 2021 to overcome the difficult year that has passed.

Crafted by ten local artists, the works are more than 2 meters high, were made with fiberglass and are shaped like two hands, which will initially be spaced apart, symbolizing the deprivations imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic. On February 26th they will be united, representing the hope of resuming contacts, plans and affections in 2021.

The urban intervention can be seen until March 7 in Copacabana, Largo da Carioca, Mercadão de Madureira, Barra da Tijuca, Aterro do Flamengo, Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas, Central do Brasil, Calçadão de Campo Grande, Tijuca and Arpoador. The works are signed by Agrade Camíz, Bruno Awful, Cláudia Lyrio, Igor Nunes, Loo Stavale, Márcia Falcão, Maria Amélia Diegues, Mario Band´s, Robnei Bonifácio and Yhuri Cruz.
