Rio Art Museum hosts the exhibition “Monet à Beira D'Água”

For those who love art, you can't miss the exhibition that will be on from March 19th to June 12th at the Rio Art Museum. The original and unprecedented spectacle of projections reflects the legacy of the icon of impressionism, Claude Monet (1840-1926) . The exhibition is a mix of light, art, color, music and shapes, projected on the floor and walls, giving the public the feeling of being inside the painter's works. Pretty cool huh?

Among the artist's main works present in the exhibition are the series of the Saint-Lazare Station (1877), the Rouen Cathedral (1893), the Water Lily Lake (1895-1926), the Palace of Westminster (1904) and the Grand Canal of Venice (1908).

The exhibition “Monet à Beira D'Água” will also carry out an intervention on the premises of the Rio Art Museum called “Impressões à Beira Mar”, which is located on the 4th floor, with postcards from the MAR collection. On the ground floor, “Estação MAR” has a timeline of Monet’s life.

According to curator Naum Simão, “water is the central theme of the exhibition. Based on this theme, we guided the choice of works and their organization into eight thematic subgroups, which we call narratives: A Train Trip; Fields and Mills; The Sea and the Light; Tour by the Lake; Architecture of Time; Snowy Horizon; Landscapes “en vert” and Flores de Tinta. It took 28 months of production, involving a total of more than 60 professionals,” he explains.

For those who pass by on Venezuela Street, on Olympic Boulevard, you can already see the 15 meter high tent that is already installed. In the structure of more than two thousand square meters, it will be possible to experience 285 licensed works by the painter projected on panels seven meters high. This is considered the largest multimedia Monet exhibition in the world in terms of duration.

After the city of Rio de Janeiro, the exhibition goes to São Paulo, Los Angeles and several other cities.
