Pier Mauá is one of the companies that supports the Rio de Cores Circuit. Throughout the month of June we will have our historic cranes lit up in the colors of the LGBTQIA+ Pride flag. The action is carried out by the Rio Convention & Visitors Bureau (VisitRio) and the LGBT Chamber of Commerce and Tourism in Brazil, where around 40 establishments, including hotels, bars, restaurants and tourist attractions, will offer special benefits to visitors, in addition to reinforcing actions to respect diversity and inclusion.
In addition to Pier Mauá, other establishments are participating with a play of lights in the colors of the flag, such as the Museum of Tomorrow, raising the rainbow flag or tile signs painted especially for the campaign, encouraging respect for diversity.
The Marvelous City was identified as one of the most desired places by this public for post-pandemic travel. LGBT tourism generates US$$ 218 billion annually worldwide, according to OutNow data from 2019. Brazil is the second largest market, behind only the United States, with a turnover that exceeds US$ 63 billion.
