Pier Mauá welcomes the largest floating bookstore in the world in September

Vessel arrives in Rio de Janeiro and brings more than five thousand titles on board

Book lovers can get excited now! On September 19th, Pier Mauá receives a visit from the ship Logos Hope, the largest floating bookstore in the world. The vessel will be docked at the city's port until October 6th and, in addition to selling books, it also promotes social projects with the help of volunteers.

It may be that many still remember the last visit of the sister ship Logos II, which visited Brazil in 1999 in the ports of Porto Alegre, Santos, Salvador and Recife, when it received thousands of visitors. Now, Logos Hope, the largest and newest vessel, will sail for the first time to Brazil, starting in Santos – SP.

Visitors can, among other things, visit the onboard bookstore. The ship offers a wide selection of over five thousand different literary titles at affordable prices. With around 400 volunteers from over 60 different countries, it carries a wide selection of works at affordable prices. The books cover different topics, including science, sports, hobbies, cooking, arts, health, languages, family issues and Christian literature. With children's books, dictionaries, atlases and much more, the bookstore is for the whole family to enjoy. And the coolest thing is that, in addition to sales, donations are made, and crew members participate in social projects wherever they go. It will be possible to find books in Portuguese, English and Spanish.

The public will have the opportunity to discover different areas on the floor for visitors: dance, theater, welcome area, interactive exhibitions. Furthermore, you can also delight in several options of International Café, with ice cream, drinks and snacks for sale. The ship has access for people with physical disabilities, but it is recommended that they be accompanied.

The entry price is R$ 5.00 (cash) per person paid at the time of visit. Over 60s have free entry, as do children under 12 accompanied by an adult.

VM Logos Hope is operated by GBA Ships, an international non-profit Christian organization. Since 1970, the organization has welcomed more than 46 million visitors in more than 160 countries and territories around the world. Here in Brazil, it still passes through Santos (23/8 to 17/9), Vitória (09 to 22/10), Salvador (24/10 to 12/11) and Belém (18/11 to 6/12).
