Almost 87 thousand tourists arrive in Rio through Pier Mauá in January alone

After intense movement in December, Pier Mauá continues to be full of ships in January and from the 5th to the 31st, almost 87 thousand tourists will pass through the Marvelous City International Cruise Terminal. In fact, several days with simultaneous ships: Sunday (05) had two ships (MSC Fantasia and Sovereign), the 9th (Sovereign and Amadea), the 13th (MSC Fantasia and Sovereign) and the 18th (MSC Fantasia and Musica). On the 21st there will be three (Sovereign, MSC Magnifica and Silver Whisper) and on the 23rd, two again (Costa Pacifica and Balmoral).

MSC Fantasia arrived on January 5th, bringing more than 5671 passengers and crew and returns to the Pier on the 13th, 18th and 26th for another trip. The Costa Pacifica arrives on the 7th at around 10am. Launched in 2009, Costa Pacifica is the third cruise ship in the Concordia class, with the sisters Concordia, Favolosa, Serena and Fascinosa, in addition to Carnival Splendor. Balmoral cruises attract a loyal base of mature passengers (almost all British), who prefer to travel only with Fred Olsen (the ship's operator).

This number of tourists throughout the month of January should inject around US$ 26,100,000.00 into the Rio economy.

Tourists are welcomed at the cruise terminal located in warehouses 4 and 5 of Pier Mauá. It is worth mentioning that in addition to the partnership with the municipal guard and the present center aimed at the safety of passengers and passersby around Praça Mauá and Boulevard Olímpico, Pier Mauá also partnered with the VLT, ferris wheel, Aquario, all to bring more convenience to visitors arriving in the city by sea.
