Skate ramp for public use reopens in MAR this Saturday

Do you like extreme sports? How about taking advantage of the weekend to enjoy the reopening of the skate ramp used in an exhibition at the Rio Art Museum? That's right!!! As of this Saturday (24), the structure created by artists Guga Ferraz and Daniel Castanheira was part of the “Rua!” exhibition, which ran until the beginning of this month and will once again be installed on the pilotis of the cultural space.

The exhibition reinforced the museum's vocation for discussing social issues in cities and placed art in dialogue with street culture through urban cultural manifestations such as graffiti and skateboarding, a sport that in 2021 will participate in the Olympic Games for the first time.

Unlike other ramps, this is a nine-meter-long sound installation coupled to a sound system that amplifies the noises produced by skateboarders. In addition to this experience, the public can also check out the graffiti by the collective I Love MP and the lambe-lambes by Tupinambá Lambido.

The equipment will be available until October, free of charge, on Saturdays and Sundays, from 12pm to 5pm, subject to the presence of the instructor. MAR will distribute 20 bracelets per day at the space's ticket office, which will entitle you to use the structure for up to 30 minutes.

Remembering that all social distancing measures due to Covid-19 must be respected and the use of a mask is mandatory. More information about the attraction and rules of use can be found on the Rio Art Museum website: http://www.museudeartedorio.org.br/
