On Thursday afternoon (06), Pier Mauá, located in the heart of Rio de Janeiro, was awarded the trophy for being one of the Best Ports of Embarkation for the Brazilian Season by the Krooze Awards 2024, known as the “Oscars of Cruises”. The award was presented by Paulo Papoy, CEO of Krooze and Luiz Fernando Vieira, managing partner of Krooze to Marcello Chagas, operations manager of Pier Mauá, representing director Denise Lima. The award is in recognition of the excellent service provided by the port of Rio de Janeiro to cruise passengers.

In addition to Pier Mauá, two other Brazilian ports were also awarded: the Port of Itajaí, in Santa Catarina, and the Port of Santos, located in the state of São Paulo.
The awards promoted by Krooze, the country's largest cruise sales platform, were voted for by tourism market professionals, travelers, influencers and journalists. The participants chose the winners in each category, taking into account their performance over the last 12 months.

This award reflects our ongoing commitment to excellence in port operations, infrastructure and the passenger experience.
