This Friday (20th) Rio Coffee Nation 2023 begins at Pier Mauá! A super special event that promises a unique sensory experience that will make lovers of good coffee travel through the world of flavors without leaving Rio, this weekend!
The 4th edition of Rio Coffee Nation, already established as one of the main events dedicated to the world of coffee, will take place from Friday (20) to Sunday (22) at the Pier!
On Friday the event starts at 12pm and goes until 7:30pm, on Saturday from 10am to 7:30pm and Sunday from 10am to 7pm (you can enter until 6pm). Tickets can be purchased on the event website: https://riocoffeenation.com/
Commanded by Martina Barth d'Avila, creator of Rio Coffee Nation, owner of the corporate events agency Sonimage and exclusive official producer of Latin America's 50 Best Restaurants 2023, the event brings together more than 50 producers from different regions of the country with the aim of stimulating the professionalization and culture of this market, in addition to supporting, promoting and helping family farming, uniting experts with drink lovers.
The importance of sustainability, fair trade, tourism, coffee shops, Brazilian know-how in planting and roasting, extraction methods (soft, espresso, filtered...) and tastings will be the focus of the event.
Happy Hour with coffee, good music and various attractions
Recognizing that coffee is more than a drink, it is a culture and a meeting point, Rio Coffee Nation, in addition to extending its duration in this edition, decided to innovate by presenting a fusion of Brazilian culture, coffee and music that meet in the “Happy Hour do Café”, which will be held on October 20th and 21st, starting at 6:30 pm.
This musical meeting will take place on the SESC stage, featuring performances by the talented Maurício Pessoa and Rodrigo Sha and also including coffee-based drinks! Both promise to deliver performances that will further enrich the participants’ experience.
Furthermore, some distinguished guests will be present such as Veda Viraswami, director and roasting chef of Le Café Alain Ducasse; the French mixology champion, Carlos José Alves Ramos – Champion de France Coffee in Good Spitits 2018, who will present cocktail recipes with the drink on stage and Mohamed, Le Meilleur Pâtissier: French pastry chef who will give a 1h30 hour workshop for a Cookie coffee and hazelnut giant.
Expanded space to offer an even better experience
For the first time at Pier Mauá, this year the RCN aims to offer an even richer and more complete experience. With double the space compared to other years, visitors will be able to enjoy more exhibitors, interactive activities and an expanded food court, all with a privileged view of the Pier.
The event will feature a large internal area with modules and two islands with 30 individual counters each, competition and course rooms, a Coffee Talks auditorium, a cupping laboratory (coffee tasting) in partnership with Minas Gerais and a support pantry.
Outside, with a stage, food trucks, a square with tables and benches and, to brighten up, a breathtaking view, with Guanabara Bay and the Museum of Tomorrow completing the scene.
The 4th edition of the meeting arrives with even more news: new courses, workshops with certificates and an unprecedented competition for the best barista in Rio Coffee Nation.
Coffee lovers, don't miss out!
